Eating Quality measurement technology

Frontmatec camera. Utilises multiple wavelengths in the visible light spectrum to capture an image of the grading surface, to predict AUS-MEAT marbling, MSA marbling, AUS-MEAT meat and fat colour rib fat, EMA and IMF%:

MasterBeef camera. Software application and shroud compatible with Android phone technologies, which predicts AUS-MEAT marbling, MSA marbling, AUS-MEAT meat & fat colour, EMA

MasterBeef camera

MIJ camera. Meat Imaging Japan vision technology which captures an image of the grading surface and predicts marbling percentage and luminance, rib eye area, colour and a suite of marbling fineness and coarseness indexes

SOMA Optics Near Infra-Red (NIR) lens probe. Utilises near infra-red light and reflectance spectra to predict IMF% on a cut surface in lamb

SOMA Optics Near Infra-Red (NIR) lens probe

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT). Optical imaging probe encased within a small stainless steel needle, which uses optical coherence tomography (elastography) to predict IMF% in hot and cold lamb carcases

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT)

MEQ probe. Utilises laser spectroscopy to capture data in the loin of hot lamb carcases, and uses this data to predict IMF%

Ultrasound. Prototypes / new analytical methods are being developed to re-discover IMF% prediction in live animals

VIAscan system. Vision-based camera system that predicts AUS-MEAT marbling, AUS-MEAT meat & fat colour, EMA

VIAscan system

Computed Tomography (CT). Utilises non-invasive carcase scanning to predict IMF% on whole primal & carcases in lamb and beef
